Christ Rising

This is my view as I await the start of the 7am service in the chapel each morning. The sculpture is installed in our Columbarium and is a recent gift of the late Donia Dickerson, an art patron and member at St. George’s Church.

Although Christ died on the cross for our sins, it is His resurrection that matters.

Without it, Christ is no different from other martyrs who die for a cause they believe in, but it is His resurrection that gives us victory over death and the hope of eternal life with Him.

Each morning service ends with the words, “Send us out into the world in peace, and grant us the strength and courage to love and serve you with gladness and singleness of heart; through Christ our Lord. Amen.”

In seeing Christ rising, I feel the power that I’ve been given to go out to love and serve others.

Blessings, my friend,
Agatha
