Important Discussions

Today, seven of us flew to Cape Town. We had lunch with the Bishop of Table Bay, Rt. Rev. Garth Counsell, to talk about the partnership between St. Thomas and St. George’s.  Joanna stayed in Johannesburg to work with the Children’s Discipleship teachers; John and Anita stayed to meet with some additional schools about potential joint programs.  Sarah was also absent from our group - she has to fly back for a wedding in the States.

When we exited our plane, Larry and I went to the market to shop for items to put in the St. George’s Silent Auction to raise money for the Feeding Scheme. The others went to Robben Island, however, the Ferry was broken so they didn’t get to see where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned.

Today was a day of rest from the pain and suffering we experienced in Kagiso.  Now that we are rested we’re do more of God’s work here in South Africa.
