SSJE: Thomas: Trusting in Jesus

March 5, 2018

Today’s Question: Where Have you found Peace this week?

In today’s video, Br. Keith Nelson talks about Thomas trusting in Jesus after examining His wounds from the cross. I can imagine how anxious the disciples were after seeing the Lord crucified and then the stories of the Resurrection. They probably doubted that almost anything they saw or heard was true.

I am struck in today’s Scripture from John 20:26-28 that the first thing that Jesus says after the doors were shut and they were safe is,  “Peace be with you.” Jesus knew that they had uncontrollable doubts and fears, but instead of launching into a new story to explain the Resurrection, Jesus starts by blessing them with Peace.

I was blessed with Peace last week in unusual ways: physical pain that continues to lessen, news of a great friend who has returned from the mission field, an opportunity to serve others internationally, and turning on an unfamiliar road and ending up exactly at my destination.

There is a lot of Peace in the world that gets drowned out by all the negative and boisterous noise. Let’s champion the Lord by sharing our individual Peace with others.

Blessings, my friend,
