STOP, PRAY, WORK, PLAY, LOVE

Agatha Nolen February 6, 2015

Will you join me this Lenten season as we reflect on our use of time? The Society of St. John the Evangelist is a monastic community established in 1870 in Cambridge, MA that has been praying about the Holiness of Time for the past year. Starting February 18, on Ash Wednesday, they’ll release a 2-3 minute video each morning with each week dedicated to one of five aspects of time: Stop, Pray, Work, Play and Love. Starting on Sunday, February 22, they’ll add a question to reflect on throughout the day.

I plan to post a link to the video and question early each morning from February 18 to March 28th on my FACEBOOK page at: https://www.facebook.com/agatha.nolen.

On Tuesday evenings from 8-9PM CST, I’ll be on-line on my Facebook page, facilitating discussions among my friends on the week’s topics and questions from the previous week. You can participate in the discussion, or choose just to read others’ thoughts as they contemplate their use of time. I expect a lively but respectful discussion as we explore how our pollution of time causes so much of our stress and anxiety.

For example, here are the topics and questions for the first chat session:
Sunday, February 22   - Stop. Sit in total stillness for five minutes today. How does it feel?

Monday, February 23  - Accountable. Where is your invitation to stop during the day?
Tuesday, February 24 – Liberation. What taskmasters do you need to be liberated from to
                                             reclaim your dignity?

I expect great on-line interaction on these Tuesdays from 8- 9PM CST.
We'll use #ssjetime for posts.

February 24 -  STOP
March 3        -  PRAY
March 10      -  WORK
March 17      -  PLAY
March 24      -  LOVE
March 31      -  Final Discussion

Will you join me each morning, and on-line live on Tuesday evenings?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how to keep time holy.

You can download a free pdf of the workbook here.

Blessings for a wonderful, reflective Lenten season for you,
Agatha
