Re-Connecting in the Holy Land
Our first night in Tiberias-November 9, 2011
Present the facts of a situation and then trust God to know how best to fix it. We often tell God what to do.
Sausan is one of the students from Nazareth that we sponsor with a scholarship. She is in the 8th grade at St. Joseph School, Nazareth.
The Rock where Peter recognized Jesus after the resurrection. We were challenged-How solid is my faith? When others see me lead my life, is it obvious to everyone that I depend upon God for everything as the foundation of my life?
Have I recognized Jesus as the Messiah? Who do you say I am?
Nothing Worse Than Indifference
Governor Felix imprisoned Paul for 2 years at Caesarea Maritima. Felix talked about his faith with Paul but did nothing. How will you spend the next 2 years? Inspiring others or doing nothing?
Jesus was tempted by Satan at the Mount of Temptation. He was all alone. Can we withstand temptations when we are alone?
Jesus demonstrates the power that God has, even over death by raising Lazarus from the dead.
I was distressed at our visit to the Temple Mount where the 3 major religions seem to be in competition with each other for attention, power and authority rather than loving each other as Jesus teaches us.
Peter makes a promise to Jesus boasting of being better than the other disciples. Do we often think of our good deeds in relationship to how others act?
Jesus appeared to two men on the Road to Emmaus. One was named Cleopas. Was the other person, us?
I'm back in the States, but the pilgrimage has just begun. We now know we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, commanded to live our lives so that others around us can taste and feel the glory of God. It is now up to us to Go and Do.
