Today’s Question: Do you allow yourself to be seen by Jesus?

Br. Vryhof shares from John’s Gospel: “Jesus says, “The words that I speak are not my words, but they are the words that the Father gives me. The things you’ve seen me doing are the things that the Father’s doing in the world.”

I was always a church-goer, but my faith was limited by what I was willing to reveal to God. I withheld confessions with platitudes and promises that “I would do better”, even if I knew I would be at the same sins in the next day. It was also hard to admit when I was hurting, or floundering in a relationship. Looking back, it was me who didn’t trust God to be who He said He was.

My prayer life has changed in that I no longer withhold joys or sorrows. God already knows what I am experiencing, but it is that open dialogue that has deepened our relationship.
