SSJE: Depending on God

Today’s Question: In what part of your life can you learn to better depend on God?

Br. Jim Woodrum describes a childhood memory of mimicking his father shaving. When we are small, we try to duplicate exactly what we see whether it is nurturing baby with a doll, or washing the tricycle when Dad is washing the family car. It is also during these times when we are in intimate relations with another, respecting them enough to want to be just like them.

I can certainly learn to depend more on God in my relationships with others and also in my physical capacity which has had some challenges in recent years. I see Jesus as the example of always turning to His father to mimic him, and relying on him solely when things look bleak both physically and mentally. I’m thinking about Jesus conversing with the Father from the cross.
