Simplicity and Humility

Muizenberg Beach sunset, South Africa

I have two new friends who are teaching me about simplicity. They lead extraordinary lives for which they could boast, but instead they are amazingly humble.

I’ve learned from them that when I’m not constantly trying to impress people with more possessions, knowledge, or more “something”, I can lead a simpler life. It is when I focus on God and look out for the interests of others that life becomes simple.

I’ve felt a nudge to re-design my blog into a simpler, less cluttered look, which is what you are seeing for the first time today. I appreciate everyone who follows my blog, and I hope the new design is easier to navigate and share with your friends.

In thinking about the interests of others, I’ve added a STORE where you can purchase high resolution digital photos to download and print enlargements. Ten percent of all profits each quarter will go to a designated non-profit agency. I’ll donate $100 each quarter minimum. The first designated non-profit is THE WAREHOUSE based in Cape Town, South Africa.

In addition to images for sale, I’ll have a few images that are free each month so you can download them to your desktop or mobile device and share with friends.

Simplicity and Humility; I’m learning that they go hand in hand. When I slow down and see the beauty around me, I become humbled by the wonder of God’s creation and my days become simpler.

I understand Phil Yancey when he said, “I’ve stumbled upon an Artesian well of grace and have been gulping it every since.”

I pray that you too drink abundantly from the well of grace and that your life becomes simpler and richer through your humility.

Blessings, my friend,

Agatha
