Dancing, Singing and Worship
Dancing, Singing, and Worship
Our first Sunday at St. Thomas was glorious with a 2-hour service filled with dancing, singing and a shared Anglican worship. Our Bishop, John Bauerschmidt presided with Rev. Sarah Kerr from St. George’s assisting. Bishop Bauerschmidt’s sermon was on 2 Timothy 1:1-14. He talked about stoking the embers in us to fan the flame of commitment to our calling. We need to exhibit a passion in fulfilling God’s work in our lives. God is present today in the church, but also in each of our lives.
Rev. Kerr blessed hundreds of children as they came forward after communion. We played a video that we had made of St. George’s, telling them how much we love them as well as jerseys for their ministry and a gift of a painting, Solace and Transformation, painted by one of our South Africa travelers, Matthew DeBardelaben.
What a Spirit-filled celebration. God indeed was present today!
We give thanks for the partnership of St. Thomas and St. George’s; we worship together as friends.
Tomorrow, we work side-by-side in the vegetable gardens.
